How Important Are Back Links?

from:

Back links will maximize your online company presence, just as articles can build your online presence. A few other names for back links are:

- IBL’s

- Inbound Links

- Incoming Links

The back link is the opposite of a hyperlink.

A hyperlink takes a user from site A to site B.

A back link takes a user back from site B to site A.

Web directories and websites from other directories receive back links and search engines use back links to determine the ranking of a website. A search engine can decide which site is at the top of a list by the amount of back links it gets. However you must first enter a keyword in your search engine.

A back link is built on quality, and so if sites start linking to your website then you know your website is successful. Traffic will be coming to your website and your business will flourish. The trick to increase your business is therefore to build a great back link, and then the ball will start rolling.

There are good versus bad back links to your website, so make sure you get good quality links to your website from other similar websites. If you are a dentist, for example, you will want to get a back link from another dental site.

How to get a back link?

If your site is not a great site, no one will back link to your site, so make sure your website and content are extraordinary!

- First you need to find a website you like.

- Find a person to read your article and post it on their site.

- If your article is good it will probably have no problem getting posted.

- Most webmasters want unique information on their site.

- Another way to get a back link is to get your article syndicated or summarized in an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed. Someone interested in the summary of your article will make sure to go back to your site to read the whole article.

When you write an article that is new, fun, interesting and newsworthy make sure to put a link to the article. If your press release is not newsworthy, it may get lost and ignored in the World Wide Web, but if you publish a newsworthy press release with a link to your website, then you can increase interest, and traffic will automatically come to your website because of that excellent back link you just created.
