Copywriting and Studying SEO
from:Writing is not just about expressing oneself or about providing information. These things are required, of course, but there is one more attribute of a good piece of writing, especially if it is to be published on the web. This attribute is called Search Engine Optimization. A well written content can reap profits only if it can be read and that is done through SEO. SEO involves lot of study. The study comprises of not only the subjects or keywords that more people search about but also what exactly they want to read, how they perceive your content and how they express their likes and dislikes.
People do link, bookmark and ‘digg’ the sites that they like and find relevant. Having sources like this makes a lot of difference in attracting visitor traffic and revenue collection of the website. The idea is to make the content not only tempting enough to be read but also compelling enough to get the same readers again and again to the website. Repeat business is equal to lots of profit. There used to be times when SEO was all about keyword selection and densities. Keywords are still useful, especially in the title or heading of the content, but there are better ways to do SEO than keeping a watch on keyword densities.
SEO also wants links to various other reliable and branded websites. Getting such links is becoming quite challenging. Lately, something called social media marketing has emerged which takes care of this need. A good SEO copywriter should be able to prepare content that is compelling for the target audience. It should be such that the readers refer to it at other places and other websites are ready to collaborate with you to share each others’ links.
It is vital to understand the psychology of the reader and try to understand what value the reader will get from your content. The content should persuade the reader to create links for you. There are algorithms that can help you do this and make more Google friendly content. There are engineers studying the behavior of people. All a content developer has to do is to read the reports and find new ways to do this with every coming day. It is very important to get your content SEO’d because if content is present on the web but is not read, it is of no use. It is just like a body without breath.
